To Whom it may concern The Italian association "A Bridge to Baghdad", in the frame of his humanitarian work toward the Iraqi people hit by a seven years embargo, wish to treat abroad Salah. Salah is an 8 years old boy suffering of a bad hearth desease and needs urgently to be treated with a very difficult cardiosurgery operation. We found in Liverpool the possibility of make this operation and already booked the hospital (Alder Hei hospital) for the treatment on 24 march. But we are finding difficulties to have the UK visa in time. We asked a urgent visa to the UK embassy in Amman sending copy of the passports, a letter committing our association to bear all the costs, the clinical report of the child and the commitment of the Liverpool hospital. They answered asking more documents and asking the accompanying person to go personally to Amman for an interview. After that they said it needs 4 to 6 weeks to have the answer. Everybody knows that for a Iraqi person is very expensive to go from Baghdad to Amman only for an interview, all this will take much time, and in the meanwhile the child could die! Please if you can do anything to push for the release of visa let us know and do it urgently. Please help us to save one more child from the economic sanctions!!!
