The Campaign Against Sanctions on Iraq's February 1999 briefing document Starving Iraq: one humanitarian disaster we can stop can be downloaded from this page. Note that the date of this document means that a number of very significant events and publications have since occurred. While this document may still be used as a background document, it should not be regarded as a good guide to the current situation.

This draft 40 page pamphlet is designed to provide the concerned individual with background information that they may feel themselves to be missing. It reports on the major UN reports on Iraq over the past eight years, explains the operation of the oil-for-food programme, attempts to evaluate the success of sanctions and oil-for-food and then makes some comments about steps forward.
