>actually lives to tell the story. Strangely, all this >unbelievable luck apparently did not raise any suspicion >in Gilmore that the document might have been planted for In light of all the aggravation he has been put through, the least we could do is donate these documents to Hans Blix for his collection of forgeries. <G> It occurs to me that this affair is so transparently ridiculous that while the find is of no significance, the finding may well be. Were these plants designed to expose the papers and the US/UK to ridicule when they were examined, or is US/UK intelligence finally losing it altogether? My thoughts tend towards the latter considering the crudeness of the yellow cake forgeries which would have been useful only if accepted. But if the former, then planted by Iraqis? Anti-war people? Russians? Is US/UK intelligence judging that most people will not question the authenticity? Did it really believe this story was credible? Are they rightly believing that most people are so dumb or unwilling to be skeptical that they will pounce on any justification provided to assuage their conscience for their acquiescence or support of the attack? In short: what WERE they thinking? And exactly WHO are the "they" who forged the things? If it's not incompetence, then who will lose and gain in the end? Maybe it's those damned Democrats again! <G> ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
