Dear Sir,

Your article entitled 'Troops deployed to Gulf' refers to the claims expected
to be made by Blair that the world would regret not 'disarming' Iraq, despite
the total failure to establish that Saddam has any of the weapons which Bush
and Blair are claiming.

His words are very reminiscent of Eden in 1956 when he was equating Nasser
and Hitler, as equally ludicrous as many of the claims being made about
Saddam. In those days, the US president was a man of stature, not prepared to
allow Britain, France, and Israel to destroy world peace. Now US has Bush and
UK has Blair and Israel has Sharon. Isn't this a recipe for disaster. This
time France stands for peace.

Yours faithfully,

Christopher Leadbeater
