An eye witness account of working class struggle in Iraq in the
aftermath of the war

Muyad Ahmed has been in Iraq since the collapse of the Ba'ath regime. He
has been closely involved in the fight to re-establish working class
organisation in the country as one of the founding members of the Union
of Unemployed and the Preparatory Committee for the Workers Councils and
Unions in Iraq. He is also a member of the political bureau of the
Worker Communist Party of Iraq and editor of its weekly newspaper in
Arabic, Workers' Communism
