[casi] Re: Iraqis Themselves Must Make Decisions That Affect Them - UNEnvoy

Hi -

Thanks Bob for the always sharp eye. When Sergop de Mello says he has talked
in depth with Iraqis and they must be involved etc., it'd be interesting to
know if they are Iraqis who have stayed ot whether they are the CIA's pet
Iraqis who have just blown in and are closeted in the Place, Palestine or
Rashid and only go out in armoured convoys.

If its the former, he's what the UN should be. If the latter, just another
beaurocratic word weazel as we saw on Newsnight last night - WELL DONE GLEN,
When Paxman retires to warmer climes, you should get the job. Between you
both they had a pretty miserable time.

As for Campbell describing to matter as a 'storm in a teacup' to the
parliamentary committee ... destroying a society, a history, a past,
present, future and every civil structure in Mesapotamia on the basis of
false information. Reducing Iraq's year zero courtesy of US/UK inc (and
Bechtel, Chevron, SAIC, Halliburton, Carlisle etc) to a 'a storm in a
teacup'. Barely believe I heard it.

Best, f.
