Of course not censorship. Forget that Bush has hired top TV producers for
his appearances; forget that he spends tons of money on special lighting
to illuminate the Statue of Liberty and stages speeches with dramatic
backdrops like the Mount Rushmore monument; forget that he landed on an
aircraft carrier in a fighter plane in what commentators have said was a
masterpiece of dramatically staged PR, and regularly has professionals
arrange backdrops for speeches -- even to having Republican party members
remove their ties to look like laboring people; forget that the corporate
news has somehow managed to support Bush despite the facts; forget the
charges that even intelligence was manipulated (or worse) to sell the war
to the public and the UN -- but no, no, of course the Bush administration
would never think to manipulate the media in Iraq. Yeah -- right...!!
