[casi] translating german professor

dear discuss list and attila,

first of all, thanks a lot for sommerfeld's (the german orientalist) text
on iraq - already a brief look into it suggests that it is very informative
and especially that it presents a coherent and detailed picture, rather
than the isolated snippets we've mostly been getting sofar. very useful.
which brings me to a second point - would anyone like to translate it? many
on the list do not speak german, and the text may also be worth hosting on
the casi site (though no guarantees about that yet, that will have to be a
collective committee decision). if anyone has the time and inclination to
translate it into english, that would be great.

Thanks and regards,

nicholas
