Hi - I wonder of anyone saw anything about Colin Powell's visit to Damascus not being so much to build bridges, but to tell President Assad that the US wished to re-establish the 1947 (I think) mooted oil pipeline from Kirkuk to Haifa in Israel, via Syria? If Assad didn't comply, Syria wld be bombed (from Baghdad to Damascus, rather than Baghdad to Tehran ..?) What I've heard, but can find nothing (but then again, my computer illiteracy! We keep floundering on!) best. f. _______________________________________________ Sent via the discussion list of the Campaign Against Sanctions on Iraq.
