EU Commissioner: USA after Iraq's oil

EU Commissioner Poul Nielson believes that the United
States is trying to take control of Iraq's oil.

According to him, it looks that the US is becoming a
member of the Organization for Petroleum Exporting
Countries, OPEC.

Nielson, who is the European Commissioner of
Development and Humanitarian Aid was speaking about
the new draft resolution regarding Iraq submitted by
the US and UK.

The draft resolution would end the sanctions imposed
12 years ago and would put Iraqi oil revenues under US
control for one year. Nielson does not believe that
the US will withdraw its troops from Iraq soon.
