Has no one ever thought of urging Mr. Annan to offer his resignation? Even while suffering from laryngitis or whatever, he could resign in protest against the shameful role allotted to his organisation these days. Those who are more knowledgeable than myself about the ways of the UN might perhaps evaluate the feasibility and usefulness of such a move. Can he do anything more useful to the world than that? On the other hand, could any successor of his come in handy for Bush & Co?
