[ Converted text/html to text/plain ] Dear Colin & list members, At the moment the Red Cross "family links" service for Iraq is one way only, i.e. from Baghdad to the rest of the world. Iraqis in Baghdad can contact the ICRC (International Red Cross) in Baghdad. They give their name to the ICRC and the name and phone number of a family member they want to have contacted. The ICRC then contacts its various national Red Cross societies, who phone the family member and relay the message that the person in Baghdad is safe and well. It is not yet possible for the family member living outside Iraq to send a message back, but as soon as the ICRC can send more delegates to Iraq, this will be possible. If anyone has any questions concerning this matter, please feel free to contact me, and I will try to answer them.
