Dear List

Gunfire interrupts first press conference by 'Pentagon's man'
By Kim Sengupta in Baghdad
19 April 2003

http://news.independent.co.uk/world/middle_east/story.jsp?story=398525

Two points from this article.

1.

Mr Chalabi, who left Iraq 45 years ago at the age of 12 and has just been flown back by the
Americans, laid out his grand plans for the future of the country to the media

2.

"Mr Chalabi insisted his conviction for embezzling $60m (£38m) was all a plot."

t strikes me that with this record, Mr Chalabi couldn't even VOTE in Jeb Bush's Florida, let alone
stand for President.

Now there's a democratic leader for you.

Max Le Blond
