[casi] The siege of Basra

The misinformation is getting to me. Can anyone help answer these
questions:

1) before the invasion did Basra have a reasonable clean water
supply?
2) was it coalition bombing which wrecked the pumping station?
3) was this deliberate?
4) I remember hearing a British Officer say that they were only
going to deliver humanitarian aid to areas under their control. Was
this view confirmed?
5) The Iraqi government reported that massive food stocks were
bombed in Basra. Is this true?
6) Why does southern Iraq need water from Kuwait?
7) This pipeline seems to have been planned from before the
invasion. Is this true?
