Re Aid to Iraq Iraq Trade Minister press conference on BBC just now: 'Iraq does not need US/UK humanitarian charity. Iraq is a rich nation- it has already paid billions for its food under the United Nations Food-for-Oil Program which has been unilaterally suspended this week by the US. UN ships with food/medicine which Iraq has paid for with its oil are already waiting at ports, which US is blocking from reaching the people of Iraq. The Iraqi people have already worked and paid for the food and medical supplies which today you are keeping illegally from them..."
