Nicaragua - the Sandanistas's popular uprising overthrew the US-supported Somoza dictatorship. Of course, the US stepped in again by bankrolling the Contras (Somoza's former Republican Guard). Still, they did it. Greece - The US 'helped' the Greek people to bring in a military dictatorship (1967?). Then the Panhellenic Socialist Movement brought in Papandreo.
