----- Original Message ----- From: Sama Hadad <bintilhuda@lycos.com> To: casi casi <casi-discuss@lists.casi.org.uk> Sent: Saturday, December 21, 2002 1:55 AM Subject: [casi] ignorant iraqis [snip] Of course, non-Iraqis living in the west know much better than this silly ignorant lot. Don't they know that there are more important things than what they want, like: opposing war (if it isn't called war, like Saddam murdering 2 million iraqis, then thats okay), opposing the US, (and for a minority) defending Saddam and his regime. Sama Hadad I'm sorry but sarcasm is not an argument. It just shows that you are unsure of yourself. I think you are making a mistake characteristic of those who are cheerleading for a war, which according to MEDACT, the organisation of UK Health Professionals, could, on worst assumptions, kill up to 4 million people. That mistake is to think that if someone is against a US/UK massacre and invasion of Iraq, then that person must think Saddam's slaughter of his own people is ok. You have shown that there are some people in Iraq who want us to take military action. So what?. There are many countries you could go to where you would find people who want us to bomb their government. It does not mean we should do so. Bombing could very well make things ten times worse than they are now. Casting slurs against people with a differnt view to yours does nothing to advance the argument.
