[casi] blue and white armbands

I read somewhere that there is a campaign group in the USA (I think) that
suggested everyone opposed to the war with Iraq should wear a blue and white
ribbon armband and tie these ribbons round the trees, etc.
Do you know who this group is?
Why blue and white?
Would this be a good idea in this country?

Best wishes
Grayham
