Dear list members, The American Academy of Arts and Science has just published a monograph entitled, "War with Iraq: Costs, Consequences, and Alternatives". Information on it is available at http://www.amacad.org/publications/occasional.htm. Otherwise, the full PDF file is available at http://www.amacad.org/publications/monographs/War_with_Iraq.pdf. Carl Kaysen, John D. Steinbruner and Martin B. Malin write an introductory chapter on US foreign policy under Bush. Steven E. Miller surveys the arguments for and against a war and William Nordhaus presents financial cost estimates. In sum, this represents a thoroughly researched and balanced presentation of these issues.
