http://uk.news.yahoo.com/020831/140/d8mea.html Blair said: "The issue of weapons of mass destruction is an issue where the world cannot stand by and allow Iraq to be in flagrant breach of all the United Nations resolutions. Doing nothing about Iraq's breach of these UN resolutions is not an option. That's the only decision that's been taken so far. What we do about that is an open question. The option of using military force has to be there if there is a failure by Saddam Hussein to comply with the obligations". The US declined the invite by Iraq to return for weapon inspections, and now Blair says Iraq is in breach for not allowing UN inspectors back in? A few EU states stated that the emphasis on military pressure has removed any incentive for Saddam to consider the return of the arms inspectors now. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/020831/80/d8meu.html Polls show war in Iraq would be unpopular in Britain, especially among activists in Blair's own left-leaning Labour Party. There has been talk of a serious rift over Iraq within the party when it meets for its conference in September. "Mr Blair went on to reject suggestions that international support for an attack was waning". Wow.. there is a rock that the U.S. hasn't blown up.. and Blair has been living under it. Country after country have come forward to speak against this plan of attack on Iraq. Maybe Blair was on holiday too long?. A. Rhoads - - - - Humans have a wonder instinct about things.
