Dear friends, In February, the Iraqi government issued an invitation to Tony Blair to take an inspection tem of his choice and journalists of his choice to Iraq to inspect locations of his choice, without prior notice. He ignored the letter. Now they have issued an invitation to Hans Blix (head of son of UNSCOM) and Downing Street has dismissed it as games. Surely both were/are worth a try - amazing what understanding can be reached with will and dialogue - beats destroyed lives, homes, the almost certain unimaginable conflagration throughout the region and a possible use of nuclear weapons. This is not be be naiive about anything, but talk loses nothing and is surely worth a try. Should anyone feel inclined to make their thoughts felt to the Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, his email is : straw@parliament.uk best, f. _______________________________________________ Sent via the discussion list of the Campaign Against Sanctions on Iraq.
