[ Presenting plain-text part of multi-format email ] P. Bennis, Sponeck, Rep. Senator?, Sr Editor for National Review, Daadler? were all on Donahue this evening. Amazingly Donahue controlled the exchange brilliantly, and amazingly the 'other side of the argument' was clearly heard. Sponeck did beautifully as did Bennis, rightly declaring the perspective that you and I know whilst refuting issues of expelled weapons inspectors etc. The Editor for NR was typically far right and insulting towards Bennis and Sponeck with no regard for decorum at all. I caught the last several minutes of the exchange but was amazed that it was on USA television at all. Sponeck made the point that the USA is undermining the credibility of the UN and a writer from UK made the point that W. is undermining the credibility of Blair. Bennis rightly warned of destabilizing the entire region with our misguided 'war.' The republican Senator? said that the debate was critical and containment was an option, i believe. He seemed very counter to W's rhetoric, I wish I could remember his name. Donahue commented that the 'other' side was not represented at the congressional hearings and should be heard! Score one for our side! (If you believe in inspections and a lifting of sanctions.)
