Hi all, Yes it is true. Just before days Kathy Kelly, Voives In Wilderness, US) was in Baghdad and she confirmed that. the American who was charged his name is Bert. Kathy promised me that she is going to send me all the documents, then I will pass it to you. yet, it is not the first time, American Treasure authorities sued a fail against Kathy and others from Voices and other humanitarien groupes because they brought foreign currency to sanctioned Iraq violatind UN resolutions and US laws! although those authorities knew that they brought very small amount of dollars, just for theie expenses. best regards Nermin al-Mufti, Baghdad ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jiale Ye" <yejiale@yahoo.com> To: <casi-discuss@lists.casi.org.uk> Sent: Friday, June 07, 2002 9:53 AM Subject: [casi] extract from a website > Can someone confirm whether this is true and how is > the organisation coping with it? > > An American humanitarian group, "Voices in the > Wilderness", is being charged $160,000 for > 'successfully' getting medicines into Iraqi hospitals. > Their actions are in defiance of the sanctions.
