With all respect to CASI, who I think has provided a wonderful
service and has the best website, I am wondering what
relevance this conversation below about the relative merits
of Germany and the US, has for sanctions against Iraq.
A recent discussion about Israel, the US in the Middle East
was monitored as being irrelevent to the sanctions.
Recent events (eg the  vote at the UN Security Council on the "vision"
of Palestine) demonstrate how relevent the discussion of
the Israel/Palestine question is to sanctions, given that the US
wants to appear to solve this question first before it bombs Iraq
to hell, in order to get "suppport " in the ME,
