cook out, straw in, write to the papers

as you will  no doubt have heard, mr cook has been demoted in the reshuffle and jack straw is now foreign minister. Does anyone know what straw's constituency is?

The first thing that occurred to me when i heard was the glaring gap between the home office version of iraq and the foreign office version of Iraq. Mr Straw wrote in one letter rejecting an Iraqi Kurd's asylum application that "though there is evidence you will face prosecution, there is no evidence you will face persecution" in the event of his being repatriated.

It could be a good PR trick to collect lots of letters straw wrote telling iraqi refugees to go back to iraq ready for his first statement about iraqi human rights issues.  Can anyone do thiss, or do they know how to do it?

this might also make a good topic for writing to the papers

Richard
