I also know about the hearing and got the same request from Hans von
The only problem (which I've explained to him) is that, as far as I know
from realiable sources, we won't be allowed to speak or put questions (who
are reserved to European MPs), let alone "to put the US speaker under
pressure" about his topic.
I wonder: is it worth going there?
What I am trying to "discover", instead, is the background to this hearing,
for it seems that it comes out as a result from (strong?) pressures by a
powerful (Iraqi)-Kurdish lobby in Brussels, whose goals are not clear at
all, but most likely are not in favour of lifting sanctions.
Italian Campaign "Break the Sanctions!"
PS: It also seems that the US speaker is NOT coming to the hearing

For your info - this from a friend at the German Paliament. best, f.
Joachim Guilliard is very good. He is the main force behind trying to
get a campaign against sanctions off the ground here in Germany. This
message is in response to a request from von Sponek who is invited to
speak at the EU-Parla. Von Sponek is asking that more critics of the
sanctions policy are present in the audience at the hearing particularly
to put the US speaker under pressure with his topic USA, HOW TO BRING
ABOUT CHANGES IN IRAQ.
