Non-violence Training

A reminder that the next planning meeting for the August 7th Die-in (see
below) takes place tomorrow, Tuesday 23rd May, 7.30 pm, The Conway Hall, Red
Lion Square (nearest tube Holborn).

For anyone who's even remotely interested in taking part in any non-violent
civil disobedience on August 7th (or at any other time !) the following
event might be worth attending, particularly if you haven't taken part in
this sort of thing before :

Day Conference on Nonviolence

Date : Saturday 27th May
Venue: Room 3D, University of London Union (ULU), Malet Street, London WC1
Time: 10am to 6pm
Nearest tube: Goodge Street, Russell Square.

With workshops on the theory and tactics of nonviolence and affinity groups.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the imposition of economic sanctions on Iraq

MEET : 12 noon, Trafalgar Square, Monday 7th August 2000

Hundreds of thousands of civilians have been killed by this economic weapon
of mass destruction. PLEASE JOIN US in confronting the Foreign Office, by
your supportive presence, or by participation in this mass act of nonviolent
civil disobedience.
