UN Council Likely to Delay Vote on Iraq Diplomats UNITED NATIONS, Dec 14 (Reuters) - The U.N. Security Council is likely to delay a vote on a crucial resolution on Iraq, scheduled for Tuesday, at the request of France, diplomats said. One envoy said France had asked to "stop the clock" to give it time to reconsider its position on the resolution that could restart arms inspections in Iraq and suspend crippling trade sanctions against Baghdad. A new vote is expected to be scheduled for later in the week, the diplomats said. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a discussion list run by the Campaign Against Sanctions on Iraq For removal from list, email soc-casi-discuss-request@lists.cam.ac.uk Full archive and list instructions are available from the CASI website: http://welcome.to/casi
