soc-casi-polite-discuss

Hi all,

In Seb Wills' absence I'm the new list manager for the Cambridge holiday
period. He and I have been glad to see the list used for discussion but
are concerned when the exchanges lack politeness. Given the scale of the
suffering that has brought us together it is not wrong that we should be
angry. I would, however, ask all people posting to this list to bear in
mind that we are on it because we share a common concern. If we allow
what might be lesser differences to overshadow this we are not acting
productively.

As angry exchanges occasionally offend non-participants, causing them to
withdraw from the list, I will reserve the right to moderate the list more
actively, requiring postings to be approved by me.

If you have any concerns about this message please post them directly to
me.

Thank you,

Colin Rowat
