IRAQ CRISIS -- EVENTS IN LONDON

Two events in London have been arranged in response to the current
Iraq/UNSCOM crisis:

1)

SATURDAY (tomorrow) 1pm (and every Saturday until the threat subsides)

DEMONSTRATION OPPOSITE 10 DOWNING STREET to protest against the likely
forthcoming military action against Iraq.

Called by Voices in the Wilderness UK (0181 444 1605)

2)

Emergency Committee on Iraq (chaired by George Galloway MP)

 Emergency Meeting
 Wednesday 18th Nov 1998, 7:30-9:30
Grand Committee Room, House of Commons, Westminster, London
 (nearest tube - Westminster)

"Please attend the above meeting which will address the new emergency in
Iraq. Due to the despair of the Iraqi people at the apparently never
ending sanctions, relations have broken down between Iraq and the UN arms
inspectorate UNSCOM.

The US is preparing for a new round of war and the Emergency Committee on
Iraq is preparing a response which aims to neutralise the previously rock
solid British support for Clinton and Albright's military adventurism.

...

Speakers invited include Harold Pinter, Tariq Ali, Tony Benn, Diane
Abbott, Tam Dalyell, Dr Rana Kabani, Harry Cohen, Ken Cameron, Tracey
Emin, Andy de la Tour, Cardinal Thomas Winning, Sabah Al Mukhtar, Laith
Hayali, Seumas Milne & George Galloway."
