---Forwarded message:--- From: hugh <email@example.com> ACTION ALERT! ACTION ALERT! ACTION ALERT! ACTION ALERT! ACTION ALERT! ALBRIGHT IN LONDON ON MONDAY! This Monday, 9th March 1998, Madeleine Albright will be in London for a meeting of the 'Contact Groups of Foreign Ministers.' The following information has been made available to the press on her movements (sorry it is all somewhat unclear - the arrangements were not made by us!): Time of arrival of flight: No announcement. Place of night stopover, if any: No announcement - presumably US Embassy, Grosvenor Square. 7.00 a.m. for 7.30: Photo opportunity with Robin Cook at 7.30 a.m. on Monday 9th March, at 1, Carlton Gardens. Press are asked to be there by 7.20. 9.00 a.m.: Photo opportunity of arrival of Contact Group at Lancaster House, Queen's Walk Entrance, off the Mall. (Not clear whether this will include Albright, or whether she will be continuing bilateral with Cook; we are trying to clarify this.) The press are asked to arrive for this by 8.30. 11.10 a.m.: Press Conference of Contact Group at Lancaster House. Press to arrive by 10.45. (Again not clear whether this includes Albright, or whether she will be continuing bilateral with Cook.) 12.30 p.m.: Bilateral press conference of Albright and Cook at Lancaster House. Press are asked to arrive at Queen's Walk Entrance, off the Mall. We call on all those who can make it to picket 1, Carlton Gardens from 07.00 or earlier if possible; last time our early morning picket attracted a lot of international media attention, and we were able to make it clear that for decent people, Albright is not welcome here. >From there onwards, we shall try to work out the best way of deploying our peace forces - perhaps some could wait to see her out of 1, Carlton Gardens, while others go on to un-welcome her at Lancaster House. Those who cannot get out early, join us at Lancaster House from 12.00 mid-day anyway. How to get there: Carlton Gardens is a side-street running between Pall Mall and the Mall. Nearest tube is Green Park, (Trafalgar Square or Piccadilly are also near). Lancaster House. Nearest tube: Green Park. Then walk across park. Keep in touch - phone us. ======================================== Campaign Against Sanctions and War on Iraq (CASWI) For further information, contact the Co-ordinator, Hugh Stephens, at: Phone: 171 436 4636 Fax: 171 436 4638 E-Mail: firstname.lastname@example.org Address: BM 2966 London WC1N 3XX Donations: Make cheques out to "ICIES" -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a discussion list run by Campaign Against Sanctions on Iraq.
