[casi-analysis] Who jams Iraqi radio stations?

[ This message has been sent to you via the CASI-analysis mailing list ]

Dear list members,

I have just seen a BBC Monitoring report (25 Jan) entitled, "Unidentified
pro-Kurdish Iraqi radio observed on mediumwave". It reports on "an
unidentified radio station broadcasting in Kurdish on mediumwave 1116 kHz at
1330 gmt on 25 January", noting that "Further efforts will be made to
identify the station, not possible on this occasion due to poor reception
exacerbated by jamming interference."

As I am unfamiliar with these issues, I would welcome comments as to who
might be jamming the station.

Thank you in advance,

Colin
