[casi-analysis] Effects of violence in Iraq

[ This message has been sent to you via the CASI-analysis mailing list ]

Hi all,

In an opinion poll carried out by the International Republican Institute
24 Sept - 4 Oct 2004, Iraqis were asked this question:

Q3. In the past year and a half, has your household been directly
affected by violence in terms of death, handicap, or significant
monetary
loss? (Close family member, up to 4th degree)

22% said yes.

There is also a regional breakdown - 33% said yes in Sunni areas and in
Baghdad.

See http://www.klevnas.net/info/iraqi-opinion-polls
and http://www.iri.org/10-22-04-iraq.asp

This seems interesting, in view of the current Lancet report debate.

Alison
